My Inner Weight Weenie
So, I realized that I've been struggling with my weight since about 1994. That's about the same time I bought my old cycling shoes and SPD pedals. So, considering that I'm not losing the weight, I thought it was time that I bought some weight savings.
OK, not really. It was time for new shoes, and with that, I took the opportunity to switch to Ultegra SPD-SL's. I'm not a weight weenie, but I was bored and curious, so here are the results. I'm looking forward to riding in the new shoes. My feed have grown in the past couple of years (yah, weird, I know) and my old shoes were too small. Not comfortable on long rides. Heck, not even comfortable on short rides!
165 grams weight savings on the pedals = 0.363763 lbs.
163 grams weight savings on the shoes = close enough to that of the pedals that I'm not going to google it.
So, I got the shoes on sale for $160. Pedals for $105. So, 3/4 of a pound weight loss for $265. Such a deal!
Again, before I get a whole weight weenie debate going here - I bought these for comfort. I really don't care about the weight of them!
Then again.....I wonder how much a set of new wheels would save me? And carbon bars? And......... Oh, nevermind.

You'll enjoy those pedals so much more than MTB SPDs (eek)
Bearings are nice and weighted so you can clip in on the first try leaving stop lights.

Heh heh...I pulled my aerobars off the bike and also replaced my air pump with CO2 cartridges. I'm sure that did more for increasing my speed than the 20 lbs I shed off my gut and fat ass.

Oh, look who decided to show up! I was getting concerned about you. I posted this 3 days ago and didn't get any insults until now! Was about to call the police to drive by and do a welfare check. And don't give me the line that you were too busy riding your bike to insult me. Not buying it! I checked Strava!
