11/3 -- 27 Commute miles.
11/4 -- 26 Commute miles.
11/5 -- 27 Commute miles.
11/7 -- 4 Failed Commute miles. Large Nail through the tire. Shredded tire. Called for a ride back home and took the bus to work :-(
11/8 -- 8 CX race miles in Reno. Took 5th. Had a beer. Watched the fast kids race afterwards. Went home.
11/10 - 4 mile run
11/11 - 11 mile trip down to the river. 1,400 ft of climbing back out.
11/12 - 22 mile commute on mtb
11/15 - 12 mile muddy CX race
11/17 - 27 mile chilly commute
11/18 - 26 mile commute
11/19 - 25 mile wet commute

229 miles MTD

No saddle time next two days. Made a very short list for a new job and have a second interview offsite today so have to drive. Tomorrow (Friday) will be a rest day to prep for Saturday CX racing in Reno.

Sorry that I have been mostly absent from this thread. I have not had many outside rides sadly due to cold temps and short days. I've been spending time on the trainer and running a day or two a week. 238 miles MTD. I'll be racing CX both Saturday and Sunday this week. I hope to get in a longish birthday ride Thanksgiving or the weekend after 51 miles+.

Just looked btw I am over 7K miles for the year as of last nights trainer ride.

My last three rides have been in <30 degree weather with lots of wind. I'm sitting at 28 miles for the month right now and calculating 14 more days with Sundays off, my current riding distances (3 miles) would get me to 70 miles for the month. We are expecting snow next week so I'm going to reduce it to 65.

My goal for Nov.6 - Nov 30 is 65 miles.

I'll probably set a goal for 75 for December and hopefully work up from there.

This is what I'm riding:

I'm at 46 miles for the month so my goal of 65 should be easily attainable.

Just two weeks ago I was stopping and taking an off-the-bike brake in the middle of a 3 mile ride. The last two days I rode 4 miles non-stop and still felt pretty fresh at the end of the rides. The conditioning is coming quick.

Still riding the single-speed beast and it's been so rewarding that I'm thinking about getting a Surly Karate Monkey or Pugsley as a dedicated single-speed. I've realized that almost all the riding I've done in the last 6 years is doable on a single-speed. Who needs gears? If I reach a point where I want to expand my rides outside the normal routes, I'll look at going back to gears.

I would love to be riding this. What a workout!

Here in my part of Mid-Michigan it's pretty darn flat... so loaded up the bike and headed north to ride some hills! 40 degree, very wet roads and fog but i managed a 10 mile ride with some pretty descent hills. Last hill was 1/2 mile at 8%... i was basically at max HR and more then once thought i was going to get off the bike and walk, but i managed to tough it out...

So the 10 mile ride put me right at 100 miles for the month! Was not sure i could manage 100 miles in November, but my attitude about being a very fair weather rider has changed a bit! LOL

Short miles over the weekend but big effort. Both days had a 2.6 mile warm-up and a CX race, same course both days with very slight course changes to eliminate some icy dangerous spots on Sunday. I posted a race report in the CX race report thread. Will do an hour or more tonight on the trainer with light effort keeping my HR <110.

11-22 9.4 miles
11-23 11.2 miles

11/2 20.8 miles11/4 8.9 miles
11/18 9.08 (stationary)
11/24 7.11 (stationary)
total 45.89

HIIT training tonight, some youtube dominatrix that brutalized me. I typically only get about 5 miles on a HIIT training session.

So tonight I rode a recorded ride of 10.2 miles and another 5.8 miles unrecorded (technology was kicking my butt).

Bike Ride Profile | 10 mile Boardman one hill near Boardman | Times and Records | Strava

92 miles to date.... Strava is showing 82 miles.

305 on the road and 21 on the trainer so far.

I should get another 40-50 before the end of the month.

Weather is great but I'm on call so can't ride as much as I'd like

Happy Thanksgiving everyone.
