An old unwanted friend returns :(

About years ago (@348 lbs) I had a issue with Cellulitis, during which the Dr. told me if I didn't change my ways and eating eating habits this would become a normal part of life. Well that was enough for me I changed my eating habits, stated riding again, dumped 60+ lbs and life was good. Fast forward to this summer, old habits started to slowly creep back into my life as with many factors combined to keep me off the bike. Now my old friend is back....

I know I'm going to beat this and be back on the bike in no time.

I'm sorry you're in pain and your old nemesis (no friend for sure!) has returned. You have the right attitude though, and that will help you get through!

Dr. confirmed it was celulitis, 0 activity until mid week, then he said I can start slowly from there. Last time I was out for 2 months. This time it's going to be a different story.

Wife and I sat down and set some goals and somethings we needed to change and figure out the best ways to make them happen.

I looked up this condition but I don't understand what old habits could cause this. I've been struggling with gout this fall so watching my nutrition etc. foot problems are no fun for sure

Cellulitis is closely linked to obesity, and therefore behaviors that promote obesity make cellulitis more likely.

My wife had cellulitis early this year - it was creeping up her leg so fast they thought she had flesh eating disease! Even after they ruled out FED she was in the hospital for more than a week and had IV antibiotics for two months after that. Scary stuff! Take care of yourself!

The bad thing about cellulitis is that it causes lymphatic damage, which makes it more likely to get cellulitis. It can be a downward spiral.

Most of it cleared up, finishing up the last of my antibiotics. Really wanting to get back out on the bike by the end of the week.
