Great deal on bib shorts at REI

I just received two pair of the Novara Ferrero Bike bibs from REI at just under $34.00 per pair. I wear a 48 inch waist in Jeans (a little big, but the 46 inch waist I can't button) and the XXL in these fit (I am 6'3").

They have a very thick chamois pad in the crotch, and are comfortable to wear. I put 12 miles on the trainer last night in a pair and had no chafing issues.

I can recommend these, and with REI if for any reason you aren't happy you can take them back for a full refund.

Oh and since I have a membership there (one time fee and you are a member for life... I paid the fee as I was buying a jogging stroller four years ago when my youngest was an infant, and I got 10% back to use in store credit) the $60.00 I spent will net me $6.00 store credit which is handy when I want to buy a pair of socks or to lower the cost of another item.

There's currently a 20% off full priced items and 20% off anything in the outlet store for one item if you're a member, as well.

    Thank you,
I picked one up today at our local store. Ended up with an XL which seems odd but it fit. FYI, these are considered clearance so not eligible for the coupon.

you are welcome. My other bibs are 4x Aerotech which while they still work are very loose in the legs due to mass loss (haven't lost weight, but have lost mass in the legs and my face is thinner), if they didn't have the grip on the lower leg they wouldn't work anymore.

I bought two pair, had to order them as our REI is the next to the smallest store.

Not to be a buzzkill but the REI 10% "member dividend" only applies to non-sale items. They still can have good low price if you catch an item on sale, though. I got a $600 Novara Forza hybrid for $480. It's been a great bike..3000+ miles so far.

As noted, if your recent purchase was for items on sale, you don't get the 10% member dividend. If you want to rack up some free REI money, get their Visa card. I have had one for years. Not only is your dividend increased when you pay for eligible REI items with the card, you get 1% credit for all non-REI purchases. It's been a slow year for me and I have $125 through the latest statement. This year I haven't bought much from REI using the card because in 2013 I earned close to $200 to spend there this year.

Looks like they are out of XL. I picked up a pair of open road bibs because I love the shorts, but the XL I wear fits more like a XXL so on the hunt for a better fitting brand that isn't $80 a pair.

I found mine in XL at the local REI on the clearance rack yesterday, you may have the same luck. While I have never said this about cycling clothing, these seem to run big so it was nice to be able to try them on.

Ahh thanks I thought it was an online only deal. I have an REI not far from home so I'll check that out as well. Thanks for the tip.

Wore these on my 25 mile ride today and found them comfortable. The only quirk i found is that the legs do ride up some due to the lack of elastic at the cuff
