12/1 -- 17 mi lunch time ride. Hit the asphalt at 19 mph when I took a wet curve too fast. Took some road rash back to work.
12/2 -- 16 mile commute
12/7 -- 11 miles CX race

45 miles MTD

Heavy rain last week kept me off the bike. It also set up a nice muddy race course on Sunday. Super fun.

Just logged my 30th and 31rst rides this weekend. I put some time aside to do a nice long ride with a group on Saturday for 22 miles mainly flat. Since I knew I wouldn't get much time in during the week I decided to get out early Sunday morning and managed to add more more miles to that with about 800' of incline. Wow the first 2-3 miles on Sunday was tough. I normally don't ride back to back, and it showed. I wanted to do more, but only had an hour and as a result my pace was pretty slow so I only got in 10 miles in.

Total on the year so far is 32 miles. Hoping to keep up at least 30 miles every week.

Ouch, i've never ridden on wet roads is it pretty easy to go down when the roads are wet if you are on slicks? Also does ridding on 26" tires help at all. I picked up a hybrid to ride when the roads are wet, but still considering riding the road bike also. Now not as much.

I was on my CX bike with knobby tires when I slid and hit the pavement. Earlier that morning I got the news that a promotion I was on a short list for went to someone else and I went out at lunch for a workout to burn off some frustration. Was going too fast and my mind obviously wasn't where it needed to be when I hit a curve. Pavement was wet and I lost all traction. Worst thing was I had just gotten custom team kit and completely thrashed the shorts. Crap.

bit of iron in my dirt, red dirt and rocks for lunch ~ 8 singletrack filled miles, 1,594ft vert
getting bit more confident on my new rig over the rocks, geo is much more aggressive and twitchy than my other two MTBs. I might have to add riser/wider bars to slow things down.

First week 12/1 - 12/7 = 91.7 miles. Just short of my 100 mile/week goal, it actually rained in SoCal last week, who knew?

Wow that's not bad for a OC since it rained most of the week. I only got to ride sat/sun day 2 was brutal on my legs. In fact I'm still sore, but plan on getting some miles in Friday morning before work so I can take Sat off and hopefully get more than 15 miles on Sunday.

Today's ride was different. It has been raining off and on all day, so I couldn't take my road bike. I was going to blow it off then thought what the heck. During a rain break, I took my slow gravel bike out since it has grippy 32 tires and disc brakes. No road kit, no clip ins, just a hoodie, MTB shorts and some old funky sandals. I took my dogs out for 2.5 miles, then put them back in the fence and rode until the sun went down. Average was 10.7 mph. It was nice to slow down and enjoy the ride for a change

158 miles for the month

So managed an unexpected weekday ride yesterday... tested out some new tires on the GT Tachyon... looking to turn if from a paved road hybrid, into more of a gravel grinder... (looking at doing some dirt road races next year!!!! YIKES!). Ended up with 24 miles! So MTD is now 54 miles...

So sluggish this month... I'm so behind! Weather hasn't cooperated, and I busted up my knee which is thankfully better.

12/6 - 11.2
12/7 - 13.2
12/10 - 6.8
12/11 - 6.1

MTD - 37.3mi

Yikes... anyone want to come ride with me? Hehe

Had a rider go down hard on the group ride today. Hit on his butt first. He rode to the next stop and got a ride from there. Says he's ok. Waiting to hear how he's feeling tomorrow. I think I have it on my rear video cam. If I understand right, he went for his bottle and his front wheel touched the rear wheel of a guy behind me. Sounded terrible behind me.

Nothing on Friday as it poured all day. Did 15.5 on Saturday on the MTB (on the road, not trail) and 16.5 on Sunday on a road bike for 188.5 MTD. Also, 16 more on Monday, for 204.5 MTD for the first half of the month.
