Second week of December was good with 105 miles this weekend, from 12/8 - 12/14 = 140.2 miles. Puts me at 231.9 MTD.

12/1 -- 17 mi lunch time ride. Hit the asphalt at 19 mph when I took a wet curve too fast. Took some road rash back to work.
12/2 -- 16 mile commute
12/7 -- 11 mile CX race
12/8 -- 27 mile Commute
12/10 - 22 mile Commute
12/14 - 9 miles CX race
Raced CX on Sunday in the mud. This was no ordinary mud. Sticky slick pack onto your tires/drivetrain/shoes and suck all the life out of you mud! In the middle of the race it seemed more like a 5k run, than a race. At one point there were three of four of us running with bikes through the mud and the guy in the front got stuck in the mud and walked right out of his shoe. Just have to laugh. Came in way down in the pack but didn't matter. Had a good day with some great friends.

Added another 15.4 miles yesterday. Almost bonked out at the top of Heartrate Hill (My Nemesis) (tm).... guess I should eat something if I go for a hilly ride after work, haha. Set PRs on 24 of the Strava segments, though!
I'm finding one of the big lessons to improve my riding has been going slow and steady, which has actually let me set more consistent PRs without even 'trying'.
MTD - 79.6mi
*EDIT* Tacked on a short 7.1 this evening. MTD now 86.7mi

The first 4 of it was right into the teeth of that wind, there were 4 miles with it at the side (4 miles into wind, 2 across, 4 with wind, 2 across), the cross wind was honestly worse. It is a learning experience for sure knowing how to get a feel for how long the ride will work out to be. Just my left foot got cold today :-)...I was trying some thicker socks but they are probably cotton, need to get something better in that dept for sure.
I had made the decision to NOT buy winter specific stuff this year that would not fit in NEXT year :-), socks might be ok though :-).
I had on two Target duo dry shirts...a LG winter jersey, leg warmers, aerotech bib shorts, a target duo dry jacket, leg warmers, shoe covers, target duo dry skullcap kinda dealio. I have some gloves with a seperate finger cover section that I use Deer hunting that worked out quite well.

Also, I'm on the verge of leaving Clydesdale territory, as my morning weight has been hovering around 200.5 the past few days, and around 199 after my workout.
Ed: This morning, the scale said 199.1, and 197.4 after my ride. Yahooo!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Just a quiet commute today. Saw lots of deer on the way home. Rain last few days has let up and critters are out foraging.

Snuck in a morning commute into work Friday before the rain hit. Timed it good. Just started to sprinkle when I pulled into the office. Raining hard in the afternoon so I bailed and dragged the bike on public transit for the ride home.
