No, because our brains are apparently intact and undamaged.

When is the Big Day?

January 17th at my LBS. The final video will be a special spin class..... The Minions have approved it.

One week after that the Tour starts and I will be doing that as well.

It sounds intriguing to me but I don't have any Sufferfest videos. I could get them I guess, but my way of thinking is that since I've been consistent with my program on the trainer, I don't have a problem that I need to spend money to solve. Between now and then I will think about it though, because it sounds like a shot of intensity at a time when it will really help.

I would like to think I could complete that on trainer road

Maybe if I set my ftp to 100 somewhere around day 5 I would fall over.

One of the streaming options is a great way to sample without buying. The Sufferfest are fun in a painful way. Trying them may increase your enjoyment of trainer miles or maybe not. They may lead to athletic improvement or not. It boils down to what works to motivate each rider and what their goals are. For me they work. The feverish atmosphere on the ToS group page on FB is inspiring at this time of year when for those of us in the "snow belt" see few outdoor miles. It is as close as many of us will ever come to riding in a grand tour.

If I only knew how to do that streaming bit I might try a few I don't have. I want to be a luddite some day.

Ibo,

if you really want to have a laugh, look at strava for my FTP ride last night.

I was a sloppy mess after that one.

Started the high volume century plan on trainerroad last night, and trying to run 3 miles on the off nights of riding.....freaking weight loss and training hurts.

on another note I have two buddies in VA trying to put together a long weekend riding...thinking maybe skyline drive, or the parkway somewhere...maybe up your way as one lives in winchester. You interested?

Was that the 8 minute trainer road test? Nothing wrong with what I saw for the 8 minute laps. Pretty consistent. Looked for you on Trainner Road; couldn't find ya

Yes, yes it does. If it was easy everybody would do it.
Which one? The novice or advanced? I see they changed the way they show plans today

I could come down for a day of climbing. There's a lot of nice CAT 2 and 3 climbs around these parts. One in Skyline is ~16 mi at an avg of 3% with some double digit stuff thrown in.

Or I can jump on the bike here, root around a while and get in a 10,000' century. You are welcome to come on up. Spare room, plenty of shine and wild game

<end hijack

That's a nice driveway.

I drove up skyline back in about 1991, back when I thought I was quick enough to avoid deer jumping out into the road. NOT!

You should come on back when @vesteroid comes out. We all could root round the hills

Root around the hills? You know the only guy slower than vesteroid up a hill is me, right?

yeah sure, I checked my rides from when you and I were riding together, I was at a 255 ftp. I am at a whopping 200 now. I doubt seriously I can get it back that high by this summer...but going to try...and even then you beat me on big climbs. I still outweigh you buddy.

Beast mode. I saw what you did last night

You will get the elusive wattage back.

As a guy I know told me one day when I was getting dropped with regularity in a trainer session... suck it up cupcake.

I don't think you do outweigh me, not after Christmas. I think you were lighter last March too, by a can of beer or so.

I only beat you up a climb because I'm meaner. Besides, you wore yourself out early on in that wind and Mrs Vest and I were enjoying your draft thinking "what the heck is he up to"
