They work great with my insulated columbia boots in the winter and my day hikers in the summer. They'll be fine with sneakers as well.
That's what I use on my commuter road-bike too; really nice. Always grips tight, better than clips imo.

I have studded Wellgo pedals on my cargo bike. Love them. Best platform pedal in my opinion.

I just visited the LBS to ask him to get some Wellgo's. While I was there, he showed me a set of Odyssey Twisted PC's, the ones jdswitters recommended. For $17, I figured I'd give them a shot. Put them on the bike and I like them, but I don't love them. I think I would have preferred a larger platform. I'll give them a few days and, if I can't bond with them, I'll go back and order the Wellgo's.

Size 15?! Even platforms must seem tiny.

I have Ergon pedals, the large size is some where the size of a Ping-Pong Paddle.. curved to center your foot with Grip tape in the center rather than Pins ..

Engineered bushings rather than a Bearing to wear out and need servicing .. Wrap around reflectors for after dark ..

I advocate for stiff arch support insoles to make comfortable walking shoes More Bike shoe-ish..

this is my sneaker standard pedal, but this time i went to Velo Orange and got the VO road pedals for something with a bit more bling and sealed bearings. i hate the giant huge spiked pedals, they hit me in the shins too much

Update from OP:

I just took the bike out for its first "long" recreational ride of the season and I'm starting to like the Twisted PC's much better now. I'm sure any of the pedals you guys have recommended would have been fine, too, but these came in at the right price point at the right time.

Thanks, everybody. And check 'em out: Twisted PC by Odyssey.

Saw the title and was going to recommend those exact pedals; great choice!
