A live rattlesnake, followed a few feet later by the skin he had just molted off.
I was going slowly uphill when I saw him - I don't think I've ever moved faster up that hill!

I found a wallet with a bit of cash and ID on the highway while touring outside of Nelson BC last summer. Asked about nearest police station when we stopped at the LBS and the owner offered to see if he could find a phone number for the guy online. We pulled out the ID and the owner did a double-take then said don't worry about calling, this guy is my neighbour.

Found a new balckberry phone. Called some numbers on it, found the owner. It was a work phone and really important to her. She suggested a reward, ( too much) I thought a cold 6er of IPA would do. Win win.

I always find a bunch of those rubber tie down straps and clothing. Sometimes tools.

A pair of nice looking mens leather shoes. But... just the tops of the shoes. They have no soles. O_o

The title of this thread was calling my name.
The other day, when riding with my family, we were rolling through a section of the road where a car or two are always on our tail. My wife, who was riding in the back, hollered out, "Mooooonnnnney!" as she promptly stopped her bike, turned it around and dismounted to grab the cash. It was very unsafe to say the least.
It was a fake $1,000,000 bill. The car behind her was not happy. Needless to say, my wife wasn't exactly thrilled either. The fake bill was actually a gospel tract.

Does she think risking getting hit is worth $100? $20?

Recently found a very tattered Swiss army knife, with one of the scales missing. A few days later, a flat screwdriver in good condition. Kept the second one; left the first one - already have enough multitool knives around here.

Burberry scarf in perfect condition a few months ago.
Got it dry cleaned and sold it for $90 on eBay (it paid for my Brooks saddle!)...

Coins, couple odd tools,a mini pump,a phone(returned),a Leatherman sheath(empty),and I once found a headlight. Got it home and it turned out to be full of ants! Obviously didn't keep it.

While riding with my son last night on the trails behind our house I found a variety of animal droppings that we had to play slalom around. These droppings were attributed to the following species:
- Horse
- Goose
- Dog
Horses aren't supposed to be on the trail, and when they unload, the riders never think they have to scoop up the 10 lb mountain of fecal matter. And people are supposed to pick up after their dogs, but you know, most folk don't seem to care.

I found a whole bike once! Well, when I say whole...
-Wheels were horrendously bent
-Seatpost was snapped in half
-Rear mech was just...gone
-Frame was rusted beyond recognition.

A friend and I ride mostly the same route to work at different times, he finds tools all the time. I found a chain once, that's it. Guess I'm not good at looking.
