I tried a set of the Nashbar "Soho's" on a recommendation from another cyclist and they work fine. At $30 they're a pretty good deal.

My wife got a pair of these pd-t420s last night, they seem kind of cool, the clip (clipless?) thingy is springloaded so it is angled up a bit when you go to clip(less?) into it. Or that could just be another moving part to break down the road. We'll see...

I have tried to mix nashbar cleats w/ shimano clipless mechanisms and had suboptimal results. Works better for me to stick w/ all one or all the other (all shimano right now)

I've been using these.

Wellgo WAM-D10 Pedals | SPD | platform | with cleats

Like the platform. Used the forte campus. Those are ok if you are going to be clipped in most of the time.

You are used to clipless so no problem, in fact the 324's might take a bit of getting used to. They are very easy to engage and release.
That's the biggest complaint against the A530s, but I have to disagree. I've ridden the platforms in rain, sleet, freezing rain, snow and ice, from temps down to -10, with crappy shoes and nice shoes. I have never once even felt that I would slip, though I only use the platforms at speeds lower than when I am clipped (typically I unclip when I find myself in a situation where I might need to bail), and I never use platforms for hard acceleration.
