That's a...unique bike.

Basically everything is changed that matters, I can see why you wished you had bought the frame only.

That's an expensive bike to begin with and all the changes add up to a ton of extra costs.
Fugly seatpost, but hopefully it's function over form.

Are those 24 spoke wheels? Don't see that often on a flat bar dedicated commuter build.

I just saw where you reside- explains a lot about the build.
That's a huge cassette!

The seatpost is awesome, and up close it is a little better looking. That is, it mechanically interesting. The springs are replaceable and you adjust it to a perfect sag for your weight.

the wheels seem to have some roadies upset that I put them on this bike. I just got a great deal on them and went for it. And, yes, the are 24 spoke wheels.

The gearing is perfect for my commute and trips around this area. The biggest of the rings on the cassette is not very useful, even for the 15% hill on the ride home. But, changing to this cassette made it much easier to stay in my comfort range for spinning.

It may not have been available for sale at the time you ordered your cassette, but there are now 11-36 cassettes available in Sram's "road bike" collection of cassette's, although I don't know if they will fit a freehub that is compatible with a shimano 10 speed cassette, as is the case for Shimano 11 speed cassettes.

Looking at the Shimano 11 speed Front Derailleurs, I'm not sure how well they would work for me.

They list the maximum tooth on a chainring as being 38, whereas I would like the option of at least 40 and they also list the gap between the two front chainrings should be 10, whereas I would like at least 12 and later on 14.

With your crank's chainrings, the above restrictions wouldn't be a problem.

My mechanic said that the rear dérailleur would not support any of the larger current cassettes at the time. So, we changed the derailleur, shifter and cassette (and chain for good measure). The front derailleur is very limited given the CF frame type of derailleur mount.
