My bike is finally perfect....
After years of tweaking, my bike and my equipment are now perfect....for me. Last night's commute home was the kicker, I floated home on the cushion of a nicely broken-in B-17, my clothes and gear safely tucked away in a Carradice Overlander saddlebag. My commuter is a fixed gear Sterling that I bought second (or third) hand from a LBS at least ten years ago. I stripped all the old stuff off, save the crank, and started building from there. Ten years later I have a box full of stuff that I bought, used, then for some reason didn't like or want on the bike. Now it is perfect for my commute...however, I know the tweaking will not end. Aren't we always looking for that perfect piece....?

I totally agree, I am starting to get quite the collection of spare parts. Post a picture of your ride if you can, it would be interesting to see the various stages.

Whenever I get something tweakable (bike, guitar amp, Mac, etc), I tend to go through a short, intense period of tweaking and customising. Once I get it, I tend to leave it alone... of course, I'm usually obsessing about something else.
