So I'm guessing that thing is still legal for use on any road that doesn't have a minimum speed limit. Cool.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Siegfried_Marcus:

"Marcus was buried at the Protestant Cemetery at Hütteldorf, Vienna. Later, his remains were transferred to an "Honorary Tomb" of Vienna's Central Cemetery.Because of Marcus' Jewish ancestry, his name and all memorabilia vanished under the Nazis. The memorial in front of the Vienna Technical University was removed. After World War II, the monument was rebuilt. In 1950, the Second Marcus Car underwent a major restoration.
Marcus was removed from German encyclopedias as the inventor of the modern car, under a directive from the German Ministry for Propaganda during World War II. His name was replaced with the names of Daimler and Benz. The directive (in German) read as follows:
Reichsministerium für Volksaufklärung und PropagandaGeschäftszeichen. S 8100/4.7.4.0/7 1
Berlin W8, den 4. Juli 1940
Wilhelmplatz 8-9

Typical hipster, no helmet! Sheesh!

Very cool photo. Notice the padding on the seat, you'd need it with wheels like that.

Well, the objections don't seem conclusive, especially if the first effort was not a purpose-built car and was a total dud, and the second effort was a couple years after Benz, and if all of these were fifty or a hundred years after steam cars.

Also from Wikipedia and perhaps more relevant to BF

Italy's Enrico Bernardi of the University of Padua, in 1882, patented a 0.024horsepower (17.9 W) 122 cc (7.4 cu in) one-cylinder petrol motor, fitting it into his son's tricycle, making it at least a candidate for the first automobile, and first motorcycle;.[SUP][6][/SUP][SUP].26[/SUP]

If you click on the link and look at some of the other pictures you'll see that the whole bench seat is sprung.

Any BF Commuter forum rat knows that suspension and suspension posts are useless on the road.
