How many pieces of clothing did you wear on your commute today?
Every individual article counts, even glasses or reflective gear
In the case of articles worn in pairs, like socks, shoes and gloves, each side counts as one.
Don’t forget helmet/hat and any other accessories like shoe covers or wrist/ankle bands.

I didn't count glasses and helmet when voting since they aren't clothing. Just the normal stuff at 35° plus an extra jersey.

I think reading this thread and then counting my clothing items resulted in me discovering hidden obsessive tendencies...

medium-weight toque
balaclava
ski goggles
two medium-weight long sleeve synthetic shirts
high-viz Pearl Izumi windbreaker
Rab ski gloves

Fairly warm today. 26, flurries with occasional light snow, winds NW @ 12, dewpoint 21
Winter cycling boots
socks
winter bib tights
cycling shorts
wicking LS t-shirt
jacket
gloves (not cold enough for my snowboarding mittens)
skullcap
helmet
Not counting glasses since I have to wear them all time. So I guess nine is the count.

This is the thing I hate most about riding/commuting in winter: wayyyy too much stuff to put on and take off! It's even worse when you also have to plan on for the ride home if it's much warmer (or colder) than the morning.
Yesterday morning I wore:
Wool socks, shoes, shoe covers (6)
Bike shorts, lined tights, unlined tights (3)
Tech shirt, long-sleeve tee, bike jersey, high-vis shell (4)
Skull cap with sweat strip, balaclava, helmet, glasses (4)
Gloves (2)
19 items total. In addition to that I also carried my short-finger gloves, thinner socks, and arm warmers (6 more items) in my trunk bag for the afternoon ride home.
In the summer I wear skull cap, helmet, glasses, jersey, shorts, socks, shoes, and short-finger gloves (11 items). So much easier.

My standard 30-39F fare: leg covers, socks, bib, long sleeve baselayer, 2nd long sleeve baselayer, bib tight, thermal long sleeve jersey, shoes, shoe covers, winter cap, helmet, heavy gloves. So 12 items. When temp goes up into 40's, then can optionally omit the bib tight and the 2nd long sleeve baselayer. Would like to have the lighter gloves but not worth bringing them just for the afternoon.

Yeah, I need two layers on the legs for 30's and colder. The "bib" is a bib short. The "bib tight" is a full length bib tight without the chamois that goes over it. The leg covers just complete the bib short for the first layer. Another way to do the two layers on the legs might be thernal bib tight w/chamois and bib tight w/o chamois for the outer layer. Did that as well.

2 shoes, 2 socks, 1 pants, 1 underwear, 1 shirt, 1 coat, 1 sunglasses
I drove my car to work. Too much snow on the MUPs still.

How could you wear 5 items or less of clothing to work? Shirt, shoes, shorts is already 4. Socks, helmet, gloves, sunglasses: pick 1?

I like several light layers, as it makes it easy to adjust for the (usually warmer) ride home.
