Warm day in the 70s, so:
Shoes, no socks.
Helmet.
My new Bontrager RXL Thermal gloves. My hands get cold if the temp is below 80.

Anyone who's posted in the 5 or less category, what did you wear? Pics or it didn't happen.

Sometimes in the summer, all I'll wear is undies, moisture wicking capris, a bra and a tank top!
No socks because otherwise my feet get wicked sweaty.

Edit: Wait wait wait do my glasses and helmet count? That's silly! Would we count my contacts if I wore those instead?

On my 14 mile one-way commute starting at 16⁰ F on 1/27/16 (items in order from inside to outside):
Total = 28

OOOPs! I pushed the wrong count (over 30 instead of 27-30) . On the list above, I provided links with pictures to the unusual items.

One of my favorite threads on Winter Cycling asked the question. ”When does Hardcore become Stupid?”

@scoatw has called it "gear and gumption."

For the sake of some some sort of accuracy in the poll, there had to be some kind of standard. This is very serious business here!

Since the items mentioned are actual articles that one puts on I decided to include them in the count.

Yes, if you are concerned about having a low piece count, you should switch to contacts.

No problem, either way you're still the new leader!

The fair weather "5 or Less" riders don't know what they're missing!... or maybe they do and are quite happy about it?

Normally worn every day,

Shirt
Pants
Socks
Boots, shoes, SPD shoes*
Helmet*
Gloves

Cycling jacket* if raining or cool

If its raining add rain pants*.

If its cold add a fleece vest, and maybe a cap.

I always wear prescription glasses.

At 30f/-1c. On top I had a t-shirt, cotton(gasp!) work shirt, long sleeve jersey, mid-layer jacket, and outer shell(J&G rain jacket). The head, I had mid weight balaclava and helmet cover. The bottom was, underwear, workpants, sport hill infuzion pants, socks/sandals w/shoe covers. They were calling for aftn temps in the 50's so I wore the sandals. In colder weather I wear the snow sneakers. They're nine years old but they still do the job. The Sport Hill Infuzion pants are a 25f to 55f range. In colder weather I wear the Sport Hill XC pants.

In the spring and summer, I am in that category. Two sandals, underpants, shorts, t-shirt.
But not when the temperature drops below 60°F.

Glasses are not clothing anymore than a watch or jewelry. Double counting shoes, socks and gloves sounds a bit much. Might as well add for a belt, cell phone and every article in pockets, and two shoe laces when "worn."

I stick with whatever isn't obscene or discomforting to the general public or harmful to myself and wear whatever after that.

That is how I say 'working' anywhere else when I am asked what I like in something.

One person chose over 30...how do you move, and is it below -60F?

Okay, I see now...it's all accessories, not clothing. This guy would have 30 items perhaps...

In the summer I'm at 11 items:

2 socks, 2 shoes, shorts, jersey, skull cap, helmet, glasses, 2 gloves.

I wear gloves no matter what, half finger in summer, because if I don't my hands get super sweaty and slippery, and makes my bar tape all gross.

How do I warm thee? Let me count the ways

shoe
shoe
sock
sock
boxer-briefs
basketball shorts
tech tee
long-sleeve cotton tee
tech quarterzip pullover
glove
glove
helmet
--------
12

That's full winter mode for me here in SoCal, down to near freezing. Depending on temp, it could be regular full-finger work gloves, or biga$$ ski gloves.

In summer, the long-sleeve midlayer and the gloves go away, and maybe even the pullover, dropping to 8

Ah, damn. I counted socks, shoes, shoe covers, and leg covers as one item for the pair. Might need to recount... Reading comprehension -1...
