Happy Anniversary Nashbar!

Bike Nashbar is now 43 years old. Who would've thought they are that old? Good specials going on right now. www:nashbar.com

I recall frequenting their "store" near Youngstown, OH many times in the late 70's back when they were "Bike Warehouse". I still have the no-name frame that Arni talked me into buying.

Ever since the 2009 debacle when they compromised 10 years' worth of my credit card numbers, and didn't bother to tell me, I've been pretty cautious about dealing with Perf/Nashbar. Having to replace all my credit cards within three weeks of leaving on a TransAm ride was not pleasant. I think I used a temporary/disposable card number for the one time when I did buy something from Nashbar I couldn't find anywhere else.

Citibank offers this, and maybe others do. You get a card but you do some magic online to generate a credit card number which is good for one use. Then when you make your next purchase, you get yet another number for that purchase. It's secure, but of course, it takes extra work.

I never heard of that, it certainly sounds worth the work if you are dealing with a questionable source!
