Bike to Work Day/New Helmet Cam

A coupla weeks ago the USB port/charger on my 2 Year-old 2nd-hand Contour Roam broke loose from the circuit board. I managed to re-solder it and get it to work again. But I tore some wires in the re-assembly process. And decided to buy a new action cam. I ended up with a Contour Roam 3. The main criterium was the rotating lens which can accomodate odd mounts better. Second was it was similar to my original Roam 1, but with some extra features.

Th e camera arrived yesterday, and today was Colorado Springs Bike to Work Day. So I made a little video to commemorate both the day and the camera.

Nice! I've been meaning to record some commutes with my GoPro but haven't gotten around to it yet.

Nice job! I've been wanting to record some of my local rides, but helmet cams are $$!

I also currently have a Roam3. I've owned a dozen or so cameras, the Roam3 is just about perfect (though I can always use more battery life, and the lack of loop recording is irritating). At $125 it's a hell of a lot of camera for the money.

My ContourGPS is still running after 5 years; although I may have to double check the battery:

But lately, been playing with the really tiny Polaroid CUBE:

@ItsJustMe, having bought a new bike earlier this year, with all the attendant stuff, I really can't justify the expense, when really I only want to make one or two videos, mostly about how much we need a separated bike trail along the 101 corridor. The scenery's beautiful, but the heavy traffic sucks all the fun out of it. Maybe next year.
