Praise for Inclement Weather
So it's raining today here in NYC, and i had a great commute because of it. I can't explain it, but i love this weather. It's nice and cool, about 55F and and not raining too hard. Perfect soccer playing weather if you know what i mean. Sure, i got a bit wet since i didn't bother with rain gear, but i'd only get drenched in sweat if i had put that on anyway. I'd rather ride in this than 90F and humid, any day!
Anybody else love their bad weather commute this morning?

For whatever reason, I felt really good this morning while riding in in the rain. I consistently found myself in a higher gear than normal and made it up one of the hills at record speed (even with an extra 5 lbs. on my bike). I didn't enjoy my soggy socks once I got to work (I brought another pair thankfully) and I probably won't like putting my wet shoes back on at the end of the day. This was my first bike-to-work week ever and I made it in all 5 days. I just started commuting in April so I'm still a relative newbie.

we had weather much like your in NYC here in philly this morning.
it was pretty nice! i agree, i'd take this over tyhe mid 90's swampy crap we'll have in a couple months!
the rain was light and i have fullfenders so the only part of me that was really more wet than usual was my shoes.
5 for 5 this week!
anyone notice in the rain colors are much more vivid. quite a change from the endless dry spell we've had. i am sure the plants like it!
