On the rare occasion that I ride to work on a Monday for a 7 AM staff meeting, I leave the house an hour earlier (5 AM) and I'm amazed how little traffic there is. More than once I've counted cars passing me on my 15.5 mile route in the single digits, and most of those were closer to work, after 6 AM. When I leave the house at 6 AM there's much more traffic.
