Rate my Craigslist Commuter Deal Giant Seek 2

OK this would be my first bike since i was a kid. I wanted to get something middle of the road that could help me grow as an owner and know what i will and wont like down the road. ANYWAY, it is a 2011 giant seek 2 listed for 280.

1. What do you think about condition?

2. I haggled the price to 225.

Thoughts?

If you can get something close to the price on BBB it's a pretty good buy, condition pending, of course.

You could try to only make 1 post about the same thing, instead of duplicates...

I have a similar bike, 2011 Seek R3. I'm not crazy about the ride due to form, but it's been good to me. Mine has a really distinct top tube (stainless steel decoration). If I didn't use it for going to the train station or rides with my kids I would sell it for about $100-150, but it was used heavily. I completely were or a set of brake pads, chain, cassette, and handle bar grips (still need replacing), but still shifts well.

Looks like a good deal to me, for a solid bike. It has been said many times, the point of your first bike is to learn what you want to get out of your second bike. If this bike turns out to be exactly right for you, and you ride it for years and 10s of thousands of miles, fantastic. If not, you should be able to sell it on CL for about the same as you bought it, so you can consider it a free rental.
