NJ/NY commuters: ferry?
I'm heading back to the old country (New Jersey) over the weekend, and want to try taking the ferry.
Does anyone here have any experience traveling this way? Do they allow bicycles?
I tried following the website, but it didn't help much...couldn't find a weekend schedule, bike policy, etc.

I've taken my bike on the ferry from Harborside, Jersey City, to WFC. It was special for the Bike New York tour, so there was no extra charge for the bike. I think that they do normally allow bikes and they charge something extra.
Why not call them and ask?
Alternate would be to park close to the GW Bridge and bike in. Fort Lee Historical park is supposed to have free parking available.

well, did some diggin and came up with this: seastreak is one means of getting around, costs 3 bux extra for the bike tho.
NY waterway seems to do the same thing for a few bucks less. Still is $1 for a bike, not bad.
So my plan is take the ferry down to the Highlands and then ride it out to Belmar and below if possible.
Of course they say it might rain, but this is my only weekend alone, so...f*ck the rain!
