Peugeot Information
Pleases take a look at this commuter. It says it was made in France but I bought it at auction from a German guys estate here in the US. I need to know anything anyone can tell me about this because I know nothing. I might sell it depending on what I learn about this. I had originnaly posted it in the vintage and classic but learned it was only a commuter bike. See what you can dig up , Thanks Tony from AZ

Here is my original post about bike from what I see......................Hi friends, I need some information if anybody knows. I'm use to cruising in a caddy so this is new to me. I picked up this Peugeot at an auction. The bike says Design by ZEG. It is also called an Exclusive Geprufte Qualitat.
Has Rigida Alloy Wheels, Made In France. It is 21 Speed, Purple and Gray with black fenders. The gears say Shimana Altus, Tire size is 700x40c with strange valves. The serial number is 60310910. Is this a good bike worth some bucks or should I just sell it. Was this customed made. It wasn't cheap at the auction.I can't find any info on this particular bike at all. Please see what you can dig up on this or maybe some site that can help me. Than you for your time ,Tony

Those valves are called presta valves, they were designed for bicycles, and MOST 700c wheels use them.
That's a newer bike, possibly made in the last 15 years...that's why it's not vintage.
Peugot makes nice bikes, if I was you, I'd take it for a spin. Cost is irrelevant, unless you want a bike for bragging rights....go for what is comfortable to ride, and meets your needs.
Heck even on the bike I have where I put down good cash, it makes me angry to always hear "how much did that cost"....it's not about the cost, it's about having a machine fit enough for the journey at hand
....and that bike looks like it can do just that.

It looks like a basic 3x7 Altus drivetrain, and Altus cantilever brakes, nothing fancy, but totally usable. It's similar to the STX system on my urban assault bike. The 700c wheels suggest 'hybrid/commuter' status, instead of mountain status, and the upright flat bars further remove it from the realm of 'road'.
Its nothing special, but since it has fenders and a rack, it could probably be cleaned up, and ridden around for quite a while. I'm sure its a comfortable bike, and would work well in poor weather with the partial chainguard and fenders.
Unfortunately, its not new enough to be new, and not old enough to be vintage, so resale value is probably not very high, its probably worth more actually being used, though you may be able to sell it for as much as 100$ if the drivetrain isn't worn.
peace,
sam

Thanks guys! I thought this was a special type bike ( who the hell is ZEG?) I was not in the market for a bike when I bought this. Tony
