Help for new commuter crossing GW Bridge?
I'm going to start commuting from NW Bergen County, NJ to Midtown Manhattan but have never crossed the GW bridge on a bicycle before. I'm looking for any suggestions or advice from anyone who as crossed the bridge on navigating down to the west side highway. Any suggestions/advice appreciated.
Thanks!
Thanks!

If you are coming from the GWB to the West side bike path: Once off the bridge, go up to Fort Washington Ave. and make a left, to 181st st. another left all the way down the hill till the end and make a right, you'll see a pedestrian overpass. Cross it, and start heading south.
A faster way will be going right as soon as you get off the bridge, and making another right in 177th to Heaven ave, to Fort Wash. ave to 165th st to Riverside Drive.

For what it's worth I think Riverside Dr. is usually a better option, depending on how far you want to go (Riverside Dr. goes from 165th to 72nd). Very little through traffic, almost no cross traffic (it's the last street) and for the most part it's well paved.
