Multi-LED taillight from Necessary Options
I've got one of these mounted to the back of my recumbent. This light is fantastic! It is super-bright! In blinking mode it definitely gets the cagers off my back.
Here are some tips.
I've broken three brackets for the light. The good news is that the light has survived three trips to the pavement. But, I finally had to build my own bracket out of a piece of 1/8" thick aluminum angle bar (think "L" shaped piece two inches on each leg). I drilled two holes in the back battery cover and two matching holes in the "L" bracket. One more hole on the other "L" bracket leg to bolt it to my rack.
I totally recommend this light - its given me much more "peace" on my 5:30 AM commute.

I've got one of these and I love it, I ended up using a steel mounting bar after two aluminum mounts failed due to the weight. In another recent thread there's been a discussion of the Cateye TL-LD 1000 light, a fellow who has both says the Cateye is a new technology that leaves the RealLite behind, so my next purchase is going to be the Cateye.
I'll probably mount them both, I have no shame and I want as much help as possible.
There's a newer version of the RealLite that has an amber lens, but if you're consistent with the standards it's verboten to use an amber light in the back.
I love the instruction manual that comes with it, one of the funniest (and non-lawyerish) things I've ever read. Regarding the weight of the light, it says "Weight varies with the condition of the batteries. When the batteries are fresh the unit weighs as much as a half-full water bottle. When the batteries are about finished the unit weighs as much as a half-empty water bottle."
