I'm doing my second commute today.

On tuesday, I drove into work and rode home in the evening. I drove both ways yesterday, as I had to stay late, and I thought I'd rather get more familiar with the route in daylight before starting a night commute.

Today I broguht the bike in again, and will ride it home this afternoon. I plan on working up to doing this as often as possible, and in both dorections, not just one-way, but I'm slowly going to work my way up to that.

Tuesday I took the longer route, today I think I'll try the shorter route (it has more traffic) just to compare.

I was pleasantly surprised with the commute today. traffic was actually mild and friendly, much better than I thought it'd be. I enjoyed my 16.3 mile ride home

I'm also doing a one-way commute of 14.5 miles. I rode home last night and back this morning. It takes me a long time and it's still quite hot but I still enjoyed it.

I've been tempted to take the shorter route, which would be on a four-lane U.S. highway with narrow, if any shoulders, but I'm still too nervous, especially since the speed limit is 65 and then 60 closer to town. I have to cross it and I even ride on it for about a quarter of a mile but I'm hesitant to stay on it longer than that, though it would save me about 3.5 miles. Maybe when I've been doing this longer.

Glad you had a pleasant ride! Have fun!
