ridgeback-velocity vs trek-7100 vs marin-kentfeild

hi everyone
I have been thinking to stop being a slob and and buy my first bike. This site had been a great encouragement in making firm my decision. i would need it for commuting to my workplace, about 5 miles each way, this is through inner london roads, mostly in reasonably good condition. These three bikes are in my budget. I have tried them in the shop but none were available for test rides as such. I dont know much about how a bike should feel like anyway. All three felt good enough really. As I am not very good at repairing things myself, would you kind people advise me which one of the above would be minimum maintainance. Please also mention in the passing which would be the best buy.
thanks
