Suggestions for finding used bikes/frames in Chicago?

Not sure if this is the appropriate forum, but I was wondering where people recommend finding good used bikes on the cheap in Chicago (ideally to find a frame that can be turned into a single speed).

I've checked out Working Bikes. Seems good. Where are police auctions conducted? When?

Thanks in advance.

This is probably a bad idea, but the police auction is tomorrow. Bad idea because I'm going, and we might end up bidding against each other. Check out this link: Ace Auctioneers

I'd call the police non-emergency number, 311, and see when they have their next auction. I think they do one every fall.

Working Bikes is ok, so is Urban Bikes up across the street from the red line Uptown stop. You can also check Yojimbo's Garage on N. Clybourne.

For cheap bikes (throw away winter bikes) there is also a place on the south side of St. Charles Rd, a little east of I296. It's a backyard kind of deal. He usally has a 100 or so bikes outside. Don't expect anything good or new. It's like I said, cheap.
