Since I had a hard time trying to figure out just how much coverage the Freddy clip-ons SpeedEZ have, here's how they fit my ride for those trying to make purchase decisions. Those are only 30 width cx tires, but the limiter is my frame clearances, not the fenders, which themselves are 45mm wide. They give you plenty of length on the rubber band fasteners--I just did two wraps of them to take up the slack. I could have trimmed them and kept the other halves as spares for later. My pop bottle "mudflap" is just ducktaped over the stock bs "mudflap" that comes on the fender, and is pretty much useless--but does give the fenders a more "finished" look.

I meant that the STOCK "mudflap" is pretty useless. My addition worked great in the mud and snow-- no spatters on shoes or gaiters at all.

SKS P35 700c up to 32c which is about what a 1-1/4 is.

Has anyone tried the SKS race blades? Are they totally useless?

I have an Allez sport ('03) that I use for road riding and commuting, and I would like to throw some real fenders on there. Right now I just have a backscratcher style fender. I do not think I have enough clearance for the p35s under the brakes.

Cheers,

GF

I just put SKS P35s on my 700x30s and I would not want to go any larger. For your bike will probably want to go with the P45s - $32 at REI.

But when I mounted the rear,I didn't like how far it stood off from the tire. I tried mounting to both sets of rear eyelets, with and without the clips, and still wasn't satisfied. So I put the rear Freddy on. It sat closer to the tire, and was wider to boot.
Well my P35s came today and while it took a couple of hours of dinking around they fit very nicely on my 02 Coda including the safety clips. Great fit, looks great, no rattles. I wonder if Jamis changed the frame geometry when they went from the 1 model to the 3 models. I have the 21.5" Reynolds 520 frame and the Kinesis Crosslight fork.
