I was filtering along the right side of W44th St. this AM, by a scattered line of taxis, when all of a sudden, I nearly crash. Did I get doored? Did I catch a pothole? No and no. The right bar end caught on some untidy consctruction stuff. You know that orange stuff draped around construction sights? Yep. I let the construction guys know that they need to clean that stuff up, and, to put it mildly, they did not appreciate my comments or, presumably, my ensuing gestures. For once I wish I'd kept the bird in the cage because I really want to feel bigger than those meatheads (not that all construction guys are, but these two clearly were). I'd love to take a walk later today, take some pictures and make some phone calls, but I seriously doubt it would make a difference.

Edit: for spelling.

New hazard? That's always been a hazard. The worst is when you ride past the orange netting and a wind blows it closer to your handlebars and you get snagged.

BTW - nice sig!

What about construction trucks hauling ass off the construction zones?

I got to dodge a couple of those in a regular basis

Heh, well it's never been a problem for me before, I guess I've been lucky. The funny thing is the barrier on which it was hanging barely was strong enough to hold me up when I grabbed it in a panic (I'm not too good at unclipping the left foot in a pinch). Shoddy wormanship! Anyway, a few hours later I still think those workers were major 'tards.

Regarding the sig, yeah, some BF member normally posts all sorts of crud but had this one good post.

Heh... at least you weren't going 20+mph down a bridge... and it wasn't a garbage bag.
Now you know how I felt.

Nah, my specialty is 2mph crashes. I'm also glad it wasn't a souvenir musette bag while going up a critical climb in the TdF.

Two years ago on the bike trail in the valley, that orange fencing was all that kept me out of the creek on a rainy winter evening.

They could have put up a sign saying "bridge out". I notice those things.

The orange barrier nets stopped me once when I was skiing on my back. They're good for something.

Regarding your sig, that Yossarian guy posts a lot of nonsense. He needs to stop watching cartoons and playing video games all the time.
