Schwalbe claims to have updated the standard Marathon tire for 2006 with better puncture protection. They have also put in a "snake skin" sidewall protection which I guess is something similar to the Conti Gatorskins.
The US Schwalbe site mentions them, but doesn't show them as being available. Have any of you folks in less Schwalbe-deprived areas of the world tried these new Marathons?

I don't think they're aimed at the same market as the Big Apples. You like them on your bike, don't you?

They didn't say when they would be available. Only so far on general site, not NA or UK.
