Abandoned bike taling up space at Rack

Who do I call to get it removed? It is in the shopping center with a grocery store and a few other shops. It's been there forever, and the way it is in there, it makes it dificult to lock up my bike. Do I call the police or the store to see about getting it removed?

i would think you would be wasting your time with the heat, i would talk to the store manager.

It's a privately owned rack on private property so the police have no authority. You probably need to talk to the management company of the shopping center. The individual stores are likely just tenants and may have no authority over the parking facilities.

Be sure to tell the management company that the abandoned bike detracts from the image of the shopping center and makes it look run down and shoddy.

That is a pretty cool website.

I think I will tell them how unsightly that bike makes their entrance look. You'd think they would have figured it out by now. It is only fifty feet away from their entrance, so the manager would have had to see it out there everyday. That bike is on a six spot rack and it is in there horizontally so that it takes up every spot. I would think someone would have complained by now. Since it is still there, it makes me think that I must be the only one who actually rides to get groceries in this town. Kind of sad really.

If it's been there that long, then I'de be surprised the punks havn't stripped it down to the bare frame by now.
Why not talk the store into giving it to you? Free project beater!

I checked out that web site and was amused to discover that I saw one of the bikes pictured in New York last weekend. It was the one name "Not Crossing Delancey". Whenever I travel I try to pay attention to the local commuting and biking scene and was amazed at all the abandoned bikes in NYC-kind of sad.

Eh... Best be careful doing that. Point that out to them, and they might just decide (knowing from personal experience how management companies act) that having ANY bike rack there at all detracts from the image of the shopping center.

/Been there, done that, should have gotten a t-shirt.
