The light is made from a 50 MM PVC tube, a waterproof plug holder (red thing), and a Halogen light.
The Halogen light is fitted with 8 LEDs instead of a bulb, its pretty expensive (30 Euro`s) but it only takes 1 watt of power
The batterys are 10 rechargeable Ni-MH 1.2 V AA`s in serial, placed in a holder.
The battery supplies 12 V / 2000 mAh, wich gives me a runtime of
24 hr in theory.
With two lights it takes only 2 W of power, wich gives me a good 12 hr runtime.
cheers

Nice light! I wouldn't even know where to start to make my own light. How good is the light output?

Looks pretty cool.
Got schematics and a parts list?
When are you going to begin marketing your light?

Well, my first headlight was a disaster! , the battery was empty after 1hr,
There where several designs on the net with a halogen reflector, but it takes too much power IMO for a fair runtime.
The one with a good LED headlight design was Allister, but i`m not that good in electronics, so i bought the LED reflector and did the basic things myself.
You can PM me, if you want the blueprint and partslist.
cheers

Allister, an Aussie who used to frequent both BicycleForums.com (???) and BikeForums.net, developed a rather unique LED white light that was quite successful.
Sadly, we have not heard from him in some time. He was a most unusual and creative fellow.
You might try a search under LED or something similar.
later . . .
Just tried a search and discovered that the search engine will only take words of 4 letters or more, leaving out LED, and it only goes back a year. However, you can look at all of Allister's posts under "Members"
And, just a little later . . .
I searched under Allister and light in advanced search, and voila,
https://www.bikeforums.net/showthread...ighlight=light
I also saw that Allister has posted recently. Hi, Allister.

Thanks for the comps guys!
My first dark ride this morning, the lights perform well, but i`m not satisfied with the light output.
When the lights run on 12 V main power, they`re much brighter compared to my battery pack wich provides 12 V/ 2000 mAh.
I`m not to keen on building another pack and connect them parallel, because i can only charge 4 AA cells a time.
I`m stuck
