Avocet FasGrip City
Has anyone here heard anything about this tire? It's a completely slick street tire, comes in a variety of sizes, including versions with a Kevlar belt. It's marketed as a high-performance tire, which is nice - the tread compound and skinwalls supposedly give it low rolling resistance. Well, we'll see; I haven't heard any reviews, though what I've seen, which admittedly is marketing hype, looks fairly nice so far. The distribution seems to be pretty poor though, so I'm wondering if anyone here has tried it, and has an opinion on how good it is as a commuting tire. I've been using Panaracer Paselas, which I have been very happy with, but I would like to try a tire without any tread pattern. One of the things that looks nice about this one is that it's cheaper than the Marathon Slick! I suppose that if no one here has tried it, I'll just have to give it a shot myself . Thanks for your help!

Well, for now the Paselas are one of the very few quality tires available to me, since all my bikes are rolling on 27s at the moment. I'm planning/hoping to have a 26-incher by the end of this summer. I guess I just asked out of boredom . I'll put the Avocets on my short list of tires to try, though, and I'll let the Bikeforums crew know how they work.
