Nightmare

I came out of the office today to find that my bike had been backed into by a delivery truck! It's a Trek 930 MTB with more than a few miles on it. The security gaurd on duty at my building was kind enough to stop the driver get his info (they recognized it as mine) I was even was able to talk to the trucking company about it on the phone. Damage was pretty bad though. My rear derailleur is twisted like a pretzel, one of my pedals was split in two, huge scratches on the frame and crank. Handlebar alignment is off. Had to drop it off at Conrads in tudor city in Manhattan. No experience with them, but they were close by. Subway to work tomorrow is depressing. First missed day on the bike since September. Maybe shopping for a new ride pretty soon.

Ouch! That sucks. Have Conrad's do a repair estimate for the trucking company's insurance adjuster. If it's totaled, you'll only get replacement value which may not be much. Good luck!
