Fenders on Trek Portland
I like the minimalist style of this fender. The Trek site doesn't identify it. Anybody know the name or anything similar?

Yes, they are called the "hope it doesn't rain" fenders. They are actualy very similiar to race blade fenders.

No, I'm not looking for Raceblade fenders. I know where I can find those. Anyone know where you can get the exact fenders on the Trek Portland? Thanks for the help so far.

Why not just spray yourself with the garden hose, then roll around in the backyard for a few minutes. You would get the same affect and it would cost you less$......$ that you can spend on washing/replacing commuter clothes.

I've seen similar fenders at the LBS for MTB's. Can't remember the brand, but I'm sure if you search around the online sites you'll find them(tried Performance and Nashbar, they don't list them). You could search around for a set and cut them down.
I agree with max-a-mill,a Trek dealer would prolly be able to order them for you. Doubt they'd actually have a set;if the average Trek dealer is like the ones around here, they won't keep any Portlands in stock. I also have to agree with Plosive. The rear will keep a stripe off your back, but that front won't do anything. If you're really into the look, you could save yourself some trouble by just getting a seatpost-mount fender or a set of clip-ons:

For anyone who cares, this is from Trek customer service. And thanks to all that were concerned they may not give the coverage I desire if I could get them:
"These are produced by sunny wheel, which is an overseas vendor,
unfortunately we do not have these available aftermarket."

Interesting response. What if you have a Portland and one gets lost or stolen. Seems like they should offer a replacement.
I have a Portland, and they do surprisingly well. Perhaps looks are deceiving.

Slightly off topic the planetbike fenders I got at an lbs are good to about 12 MPH with my Nimbus Armadillo tires. Above that speed the spray thrown off by the front wheel comes back over the top of the fender and soaks me. I would like to have fenders that go another 6 to 12 inches forward. The width is fine for my 700x38 tires.

By the way, the fenders on that Portland look worthless. They'll shield you (probably) from the "turkey feather" spray...but that's about it. Your bike doesn't like dirty water mixed with road grit any more than you do.
