Help: Chrome bag PVC strip warping

I apologize if this is in the wrong forum. I did a search for chrome bags, and most related threads were either here or in the singlespeed forum. I felt this one was more appropriate.

I've owned my Chrome bag for less than a month, and the outside PVC strip has warped. I thought this was normal, since I've taken the bag out into the rain and I know moisture can lead to warping. I even wipe it dry when the bag gets wet.

However, when I see people posting pictures of their Chrome bag that they said they've owned for years, the strip looks as perfectly smooth as the day they've got it. I was wondering if there's some kind of trick to keep that strip unwarped.

I'm aware that it's just an aesthetic thing that won't affect function, but I want to keep my bag looking beautiful. Because I'm vain

You want help from us? What help could we possibly give you other than to tell you to stop obsessing about it and go ride your bike?

That being said, I have a black Kremlin with yellow pvc and a brown Metropolis with black pvc and neither of them are "warping". The Metro in particular has a lot of miles in crappy weather on it too, and I have taken no special measures to take care of it.

I didn't mean to make it sound like it was urgent or extrememly important. I just wanted to know if anyone has come across this and has a fix for this simple issue.

I have a metropolis, and it looks similar to yours. I didn't notice it until I read your post and then went and compared mine to the photo.

They all do that. Just be thankful you're not a messenger, because one I've had less than two months is already "warped" and full of creases since itwas being opened at least 30 times a day. And don't get me started on the grease stains.

Thanks for the replies guys. Just making sure that this is a normal thing and that my bag isn't being unnecessarily worn; I guess the "years-old" bags in pictures have never touched any form of moisture.

Chrome bags come with a lifetime guarantee. ( I'm pretty sure.) Why not send an e-mail to Chrome and they will work with you. When I had a question, I called and they were extremely helpful.

Now that you mentioned it, I also see similar puckering on my Metropolis. I spent the money for the waterproofness and great performance reviews from other more experienced commuters. But to be totally honest I also like the hip look. I have the yellow PVC one so I know about vanity and having the cool looking buckle....I think it bothers you a little because, if your anything like me, you probably put a lot of research into buying this expensive (for a bag to carry your Sh**) and when it arrived it looked perfect, just as you expected. After awhile, you'll be happy about the not -so-spankin' new look and enjoy the mud/water marks on it. If it's too clean, you look like a poseur and a newbie. Now if I had shoes to match, my wife would give me way more crap than just calling it my "man purse"!
