    What's up with my valve?

Here's some pics. It seems to be holding pressure okay, though. Should I be worried? What can I do to fix it?

Looks like the tube was moving around in the rim and damaged the valve stem. Maybe it wasnt lined up correctly when installed? Easy fix is to replace it.

It doesn't look like it effects the integrity of the tube but I would side with caution. If it were me, I'd prefer to replace it in my shop at home on my terms rather than to have to replace it somewhere on the open road.

Install it right again. It looks like the thing is slipping inside the tube.
Assuming you did everything right, the tube might also be a bit too small for your tire?

Have you every rode with that tire severly under inflated? If so, the tube/tire shifts on the rim dragging the valve stem against the rim hole causing damage to one side of the stem.

Edit: I would also try sanding around the valve stem hole with a peice of emry cloth to ensure that there isn't any sharp edges.

I've never ridden with that tire severly underinflated (within 5 PSI of the recommended pressure).

I think I'm going to take a file to the valve hole and then smooth it out with some emory cloth. Does that sound like a good solution? I will, of course, replace the tube when I do this.

Yes, I was going to say to check the hole for burrs.
