Its the first day of bike month here in Vancouver..

And I drove to work =[

I didn't sleep well last night, and my alergies are presently kicking my ass.
..and now that I'm here at my desk, I still feel like total garbage.

I'd probably be feeling good right now if I had worked up the motivation to ride in.

Whats even worse is that I started browsing Craigslist when I got here, and saw this:

I'm 1/1 for commuting so far, nice rainy day to start out on. Rain can make for a blissful ride, methinks.

You took your car? Thats ok. You didn't miss anything. Bike week or month is meaningless. The only people who give a sheit are the city/provincial, whatever, employees who are paid to post the sighs etc. The rest of us are oblivious to what ever thay are doing weather we ride a bike or take a car. Not that there is anything wrong with not giving a shiet. This month will be the same as any other month. You can count on that.

Well, for me it will be the same as any other month, except hopefully a little drier.

..but meaningless?

In all the years I've been commuting I've never seen any of the bike month events that I've heard of, they all seem to assume all bike commuting happens in the downtown core, a place I've never commuted to. I'm 3 for 3 on the month, but that's nothing special, I've only missed 5 days this year.
