Raleigh Pioneer Metro LX....any advice?

My first post on the forum woo hoo! Anyway, I've been commuting about town and to my fiancee's & back for a few weeks now, and I've decided to commute the short distance to work. I want to get myself a dedicated commuter (I'm a road bike rider mainly, which wouldn't be suitable for my commute). I went to my local (discount) bike shop the other day and saw a Raleigh Pioneer Metro LX (£200). Just wondered if anyone had any experience of it, whether it would be a good buy, etc. The specs from the website are below, along with a picture. Any help appreciated.

* Airlite Aluminium City Frame
* Rigid Cro-Mo Fork
* 21 speed Shimano Gears with Ez-fire shifters, TX50 rear derailleur.
* Tektro Front and Rear V-Brakes for Assured Braking
* Strong Accedo Alloy Rimmed Wheels and Alloy Hubs
* Semi-Raised Steel Handlebars on an Adjustable Stem
* Lightweight Alloy Propstand, Cranks and Hubs
* Selle Royal saddle on Suspension Seatpost
* Semi-enclosed Protective Chainguard
* Alloy Rear Carrier Rack
* Comfort Non-Slip Pedals
* Dual Density Grips
* Sizes: 18/21/23inch Frame
* Colour: Black/Silver

Looks good for a shorter urban commute and a around town bike.
I'm not really comfortable on flat bars and perfer a more agressive riding position with multiple hand positions but this bike looks to be well configured otherwise. The chain guard is a nice touch and it already comes with a rack and fenders but without the annoying front suspension so many other hybrid bikes include.
If you are comfortable with the bike get it.

For that price and right out of the box. I'd say that looks good.
