A personal best.

I have been commuting to work via bicycle since June 1st
My daily trip mileage is 30 miles a day 4 days a week. My fastest top speed was 34 mph on a down hill section of my route. Today I set a new top speed by maxing out at 41.0 mph on the same hill. I know that does not seem very fast to those of you guys and gals that ride road bikes. What has got me all excited is that I accomplished this on my mountain bike with knobby tires and wearing a backpack with my work clothes in it and wearing baggy shorts and a t shirt. I had an awsome ride today and felt the need to share.

I can just see the speed you could get with the right gear. Mind the radar guns tho'.

Nice!! I'm on a new road bike, usually with panniers, and I've only gotten my max speed up to 35 MPH. I'm impressed.

usually I don't pay attention to how fast I go. I just noticed today that I was next to the same car for quite a while when I looked down and noticed how fast I was going.
