DC - Commuters Wanted
Wasn't sure whether to post this here or in A&S. Decided to do it here as it will reach more of its intended audience.
from Get There, a transportation oriented column in the Washington Post:
Now this column goes on day after day about how horrible it is to commute by auto around here. I propose that if you are a bike commute in DC you take this guy up on his quest and show him how nice a commute can really be: BY BIKE.
It may be an oppurtunity to earn some positive press.

Commuters Wanted
I'm on a personal quest today. I want to take as many Washington area commutes as possible, so I need your help. I need to talk to any and everyone who is willing to let me (or possibly another Post reporter) ride along with them and write about it. If you're willing to be one of these superselect, ultracool commuters, please send me an e-mail at ginsbergs@washpost.com.

I'll email him. Seems time to show him the bright side of commuting in DC. I agree on linking the article.

I got a call a few weeks ago from a Post or Times reporter asking me questions about my commute. I had contacted WBA to ask for some routing advice a couple of months ago and the WBA responder had asked if he could forward me details which aparently he did. Most of the questions from the reporter were about why I bike commute and why I think others bike commute.
For the moment I am off the commuter bike. I've been working at multiple work sites for the summer making the bike commute too impractical.

I wrote to him/her and invited him/her to accompany me on my 14-mile commute from Prince Georges to Alexandria. If anyone gets a response, let us know, okay?
