what do you think of my panniers?

hey there, im a cyclist, commmuter and industrial designer and i just finished designing a set of panniers... whats so great you ask... well i've designed them from a commuting standpoint - so they transform quickly and easily into a shoulder bag so u dont have to lug panniers around by their handles or get a sore back with your backpack whilst riding...

any thoughts? i've been using them for quite a few months now and they've proven to be quite convenient for me, heres some pic's if anybody wants to see.

Very nice design. Good looking bags to take into work. I like them.

Make sure that they connect to the rack at the bottom, and they are stiff enough at the bottom so the rear corner can not swing into the spokes. If you can push the rear corner into the spokes by hand they probably will swing in some day. Just put a good stiffener in the bottom, or use a rack that has a rear stay that goes way back, just for that problem.

Could you give a description of your panniers? E.g. What does the zippers do on the side? Over all it looks great.

Nice looking design. Clean and simple! Nice placement of the zippers and flaps to cover them with material to prevent water from getting in. If you put a good backing on the back to prevent them from flapping or bulging into the spokes - I want a pair.

GOOD JOB!!

Lookin' good! The hard back and bottom is important for not letting them droop into the spokes.

So what are the design details... How did you attach them? They look like saddle bags instead of hooks. It looks like the shoulder strap is what makes the over-the-rack attachment. How do the shoulder straps attach to one another?
Very well done,
scott

Very nice panniers....much better then the cheapo ones I got (but they work). I echo the questions of the others, regarding zippes, waterproofing, adn stiffness.

Any plans to add something reflective to them? I always liked that on my bags, gives you an extra bit of visibility.

thanks, they're pretty stiff, theres a pvc coated canvas on the inside panel which helps alot. I've had the very very full and haven't had them go anywhere near the spokes theres also a clip that goes onto the base of the rack near your hub, helps alot.

while the design of and discussion of panniers is
quite appropriate to this forum
the spamming of the forum of multipe postings
of the same advertisement is nothing more than spam.
The last post (the sales pitch) has been deleted.

How about a picture of you wearing them in the 'shoulder bag' mode?

i've had a lot of suggestions for reflective piping and for a loop on the back to hang a light off, very good suggestions and i'll be sure to add the details to my next batch
