Road Knight ??

Last week I finnished work at 0200hrs in the morning .The weather was foul , gale force winds & driving rain ,however I decided to do some xtra Ks on the way home , my reasoning was that I would ride against the the wind till I`d had enough ,as the wind was blowing towards home ,roughly! Anyway there I was head down, battleing against the wind ,the rain horizontal when the head lights of a car came up from behind & slowed down ,my thought was "the last thing I need now is some smart arse clown shouting abuse or throwing junk at me" as he pulled level with me the passenger window wound down & this guy leans across his girl friend & shouts " are you all right mate, do you want a lift ?" I nearly fell off! I waved him on with & carried on. I enjoyed being blasted home by the gale force winds with a warm feeling that all young drivers are not pillocks , what more can I say !After all nasty things I`ve said about them.

I've had that happen once too, in Tacoma Washington, of all places.
It was a pleasant surprise! I was too shocked to thank the driver properly, but a guy like that would probably have realized I appreciated the thoughtfulness.

I had that happen a few months back as I was about to attack the 12.5% climb of Mt Tamborine on a blazing hot day. I politely waved him on his way, then used the loss of pride to slaughter the climb!

It's nice to have a polite driver once in awhile. Most of the time it seems they are all out to get you !

I had this happen on a daily basis in Ireland, amazingly friendly people.
