An amusing police car anecdote

This morning on my way to campus, I pulled up to a stop light and noticed that there was a police car in front of me. The gas cap was WIDE OPEN, sticking out about 6 inches. I pulled along the driver's side and pointed at the gas cap. The cop, who was a rather attractive 30-something blonde woman, rolled down the window quizzically. I said, "Ma'am, your gas cap is open. Want me to close it?" She got this confused blank look on her face for a couple seconds, then said... "Uh, oops, ok sure!"

I closed the gas cap and rode off. In my own way, I'm kind of a superhero

That was kind of you. I know a motorcycle cop that lost his shotgun off the back of his bike. It wasn't his fault and thankfully another citizen saw it and turned it in. The locking mechanism was faulty and had been recalled by the manufacturer.

Hahaha... I swear my intentions were completely noble when I said it. Not sure how it came across though

Did you get her number? Telephone or shield, either will do.

What was Madeleine Kahn's line from that Mel Brooks movie? 'Guard! Do I have any openings this man might fit?'

I only saw her for a second. She was cute, ya.

I was expecting it to be some gruff male cop who would be terribly embarassed at having left his gas cap open. That was the funny part for me

Muhahhahaha...

This just made my night. Yes it has a suggested second meaning in a way. Very good of you to tell the cop that. Why do I keep thinking of Super Troopers here? If you've not seen the movie go and rent it. LOL. Hey if you see her again mention the gas cap incident and offer to buy her a cup of coffee and see if you can start talking there.

Haha, I love Super Troopers. One of the most ridiculously obnoxious, yet hilarious, movies I have seen.

I think I am a little too young for that cop, and I already have a girlfriend (who's making me cauliflower soup right now )

Cauliflower soup? Your girlfriend's cooking wouldn't have anything to do with your avatar, by any chance?

Yup. Especially the flashing scene. ROTFL. You know.. LOL. Hey, keep your options open. One lady guy is definately good but always have a backup plan. Start handing those phone numbers out now.

Not at all. It's the best soup ever. Pureed caulfilower and pureed caramelized onions. Amazingly sweet and creamy, yet healthy, with a delicious texture. She's a great cook, and has made me enjoy some foods I never even thought of!

How does one not notice a shotgun falling off a bike? I mean I've dropped some old beatup guns before for the hell of it (unloaded and basically barrels used up and not worth much anyways. Cheapies) and it made a lot of sound on the ground that I can recall. I can only assume the shotgun would have rattled and rolled around a bit if it fell off a motorcycle. Thankfully no one did anything stupid with it like shoot someone for not having matches on them cause they don't smoke.
