Fellow Commuters in Texas
Hey there,
Dont know if I ever formally introduced myself, but I am fairly new to the commuting world. I am currently working on a frame to set up for a commuter, nothing special, but it should get the job done. I was wanting to know if there are any other commuters in The Lone Star state that do the same. I currently live in San Antonio, but I do know that there are plenty of commuters in Austin. Just wanting to see if there is anyone who has any tips or tricks about getting through cities that arent exactly bike friendly like San Antonio is. Or should I say Fat antonio.

Hi there! I've never lived in Texas myself, but I know that I've seen a few threads on bike safety in bike-unfriendly areas like Texas, in the Advocacy & Safety forum. So if you don't find enough advice here, check that forum too.

that is pretty untrue, atleast for Houston. I have ridden all over Tx and have yet to have a negative expereince. Keep in mind where you read your posts from.

I got asked "why aren't you on the Bike Path" once so far on commutes to work. Granted, there is a bike path that runs along side this road, but I've been nearly hit 3x on that path vs never on that road. I told him that as the light turned green and went along on my way.
