What makes Commuting fun?

Could use some ideas for a presentation I'm doing.

I'll start...

1. It's like being a kid again

4 You get to feel the changing of the seasons, the rhythm of night and day, and really experience the world.

It's fun for the same reason all my transportation on a bicycle is fun - because I do it on a bicycle. nuff said.

Passing cars and SUV's.
Not being stuck in the traffic backups.
Eating more than I could otherwise.
The sun on my back, the wind in my face, and the sounds of nature all around (when I'm not next to a big a$$ SUV or sports car).

I could think of more, but that should do for now.

The comments from co-workers about you being F*ing nuts on the days when its a blizzard and your part of the 1/3 of the work force that shows up.

Oh and DataJunkie, it's an N word, it's definitely an N word.

+1 on every post so far. I'd also add:

- The time alone, to ride and clear my head twice a day. Better than prozac (I've heard).
- Inspiring and supporting others to at least try it or better yet take it up regularily.
- The compliments, admiration, and encouragement I get from friends and co-workers.
- The feeling I get everyday that I'm doing something good for myself and the community.

Grrr - if I keep reading this forum, I'm going to have to find a job closer to home so that I can start commuting again.

The looks I get when I wear my kilt. Nobody messes with a guy in a kilt who looks like he can kick a hole through cinderblocks.
