HID light question.

I currently have a 6V 5Ahr rechargeable battery pack and I was interested in what it would take to run an HID Light system off of that(if it is even possible). Right now I am just researching to see what is out there.... Pre-made or something where I go buy the parts and put it together.

I think all HID ballasts are 12v. You'll need either another 6v battery to hook in series (same AH rating) or a voltage regulator that can upconvert, which will cost more than just buying a new 12v battery.

Offhand I'd say the cheapest way out is to buy a new battery; batteryspace has them with charger for well < $100, or you can get an SLA if you want to slum it. I did for a year.

Bummer.. I have a halogen bulb right now that works and is plenty bright but I figured I would just look into what I could get to work with this battery cause I like it. It is shaped like a water bottle and fits nicely in the holder..

One needs to check carefully, Some HID lbike lights are not 12 v.

Ideally I would like to find one that is all set up so I would just be able to set up a plug system and run it straight from the battery, not worrying much about putting lots of stuff together. I can do assembly but dont realy want to deal with building from scratch.
