nastiest weather of the year today

Wind, HEAVY rain- it was awesome. We broke out the bad weather bikes. Rode with Sara to work and then getting home the bike love was so strong I had to take some photos

Ode to my nasty weather commuter.

It's ugly over here in Redmond/Woodinville, too. My ride in was wet, but I was 8 minutes faster with the massive tailwind I was rockin' this morning.
Going home in the heavy rain and 20+mph headwinds is gonna suck some massive chamois-stink.

Nice pics!

Longer fenders would make it easier to ride in the rain.

I know, I just like the look of those fenders I have some really excellent raingear though so I stay
toasty dry the whole ride.

Jeez, that's your rain bike? That's nicer than my "good" bikes!

Lucky! We have to deal with calm 65 degree weather out here in the morning commute and about 75 degrees in the PM... Some people have all the fun.

Funny how, although I've been sitting around lurking on these boards for some time, I finally register for this.

Yeah, Redmond was abysmal today. I ended up cutting my commute short, and hopping a closer bus to UW, and still, even through decent raingear, ended up totally drenched.

Ride home should be interesting, though.

I think this afternoon's ride will have me feeling about like that...
Frogs leaping out of potholes, and such. The only thing missing (thankfully) will be the wicked lightning.

Yah, today was pretty nasty here too. Currently 90* with clear skies and smog in the distance.

Portland might be worse than Seattle metro today. The rain should make the Seahawks game interesting tonight.

Back to the bike, I'm thinking of getting a Townie3 for rainy days. Nice choice!

It's definitely the rainiest day of the year. The wind isn't helping either. I still have two more rides to go today. My co-workers think I'm nuts. It's still better than being stuck behind an accident on I-5 though.

My hats off to you. I drove the truck today and didn't feel bad about it at all but to get my exercise I spent my day jumping to conclusions and second guessing the boss. Great looking bike by the way. Where did you purchase?

3rd rainiest day on record here in Seattle metro area. Not much in the way of bad rain on my way home (that died down around 3:30, just before I left.) Instead, I had a 22mph headwind/front-crosswind all the way home.

I love this weather. It further proves that I've got my bike set up just right, but I'm desperately needing to upgrade my weather gear.

How about all that flooding?

Can't believe the Seahawks are only up 13 to 0 over the Raiders and have sacked the Oakland QB about 6 times. The Hawks can't run for crap and Stevens dropped a sure TD Man Holmgren was hacked off. Oh wait this is a bike forum sorry I had to vent. I want one of those bikes they are really cool looking. Single speed how does it ride for ya?

<thread jack>Fire Stevens. Seneca Wallace is going to get picked up to start for someone as soon as he's available. Hawks win by 21+, with over 10 sacks.</thread jack>

Slough was very high this morning. Wouldn't be surprised if it's flooding by now. Gotta love this weather

Man when the weather man said "PINEAPPLE EXPRESS", I wasn't sure what that meant...Now I know! Steady rain here for the past 2-3 days...I've lost track. Hang in there!
