Bike in ICE!

Crap day at work. Insanely busy. Regretting not commuting because of the icy/sloshy roads. What else could go wrong?
Well . . . . Just got a call from my wife. Apparently, a pipe burst in the basement. My bike was under it. My bike is encased in ICE. With ICICLES hanging off the crosstube. It's steel, of course.
Advice?

Hair dryer and/or space heater. Once the water's cleaned up in the basement of course. Don't need to be electrocuting anyone.

As far as your ice bike goes, it's just water. It'll probably be just fine once you get it melty and dry.

i think your bike will be fine. just have your wife move it someplace where it can thaw out. the bike should be the least of your concerns. was she able to get the water turned off?!

you so need to post some pics of the bike, but I agree with ax0n, once it's all melted just give it a full cleaning and re-greasing, and it should be fine.

just water....ride it, it's not like it was at the bottom of the lake for a week.
Dang about the burst pipe though, I had a water heater burst a couple years ago.

You're all correct. A moment of panic. My concern was misplaced. What is most vital is PICTORIAL EVIDENCE of the Icicle Singlespeed.

Silly me. I thought somehow your bike was tangled up with the immigrations and customs enforcement part of our government. Dang foreign bikes.

Seriously, sucks about the burst pipe.

if that is your house (not somplace you rent an apartment) i'd seriously consider why your basement is cold enough for water to freeze.

no wonder the pipe burst... if the basement stays below freezing i'd expect that to continue!

a pipe full of water kept below freezing is just asking for problems!

Wow. First time I've seen someone try to cryogenically store a bicycle till the weather was better.

Flip side:
Sorry bout the pipe. Hope the damage is minimal.

That's pretty wild!

My boyfriend rode home in an ice-storm earlier this winter and then documented the frozen mess that his bike was once he pulled it into the basement:

Your bike looks like some sort of crazy artwork. I really do dig the photographic evidence.

I also hope you guys aren't without water for long. That would suck.
