fog!

How do you guys handle fog? I chose to ride on the *gasp* sidewalk as much as possible. Visibility was less than 200 feet (that means I couldn't see cars with their halo lights on further than 200 feet). Oklahoma is so weird.

If visibility is such that one is effectively riding invisible, one must behave as if invisible. Its dangerous in any vehicle.

Of course if one could count on every driver to slow to a safe 10-15mph to accomidate conditions one could still use the road. But this day will never come.

Dust storms (thats AZ fog : pull off the road, off the shoulder and turn off all lights including interior.

I turn on my strobes in addition to my constant-on lights, and I ride to be as conspicuous as possible, and I keep an eye on the mirror very often, and keep the ditch in mind as a bail-out possibility.
Same as I ride normally, in other words, with the addition of the strobes.
With the strobes on, I'm much more visible from the rear in fog than most cars.

Heavy fog would be one reason I might be tempted to put a Nova Bull on the back of my bike. It's overkill for almost all other situations, IMHO and in my area.

It depends on how dense the fog of course. If mild fog where rear tailights are visible ahead, then a rear strobe can work. But if the kind where headlights suddenly appear a few hundred feet ahead, then no light can cut it.

Bright lights. I use the NR universal taillight, but have been considering the Nova Bull -- I don't think it is too much for thick fog.
